I'm wondering if any of you would be so kind as to help me out with a little
advice; any help would be greatly appreciated.
Recently an old freind from my film school days recently got in touch to
ask if I'd be interested in going into partnership and starting a short film
production company with him. He's from a theatre background, and would
like me to be responsible for the cinematography. He's asked me to source the equipment in line with his budget.
I'm considering whether to reccomend a Canon 5d MK II (many good things
I have learned of this camera), but one thing I need to find out before
we go ahead, is how compatible the camera is with Nikon lenses. When
I've been using a 35mm lens adapter, I have a good collection of Nikon prime lenses, and if I can use them with a full 35mm frame camera
we would be doing very well. However I've heard of difficulties with
adapters, although I know there is a cheap version and a novoflex
version. I just wondered if there are any genuine problems such as
vignetting, obstructive pieces of metal on certain Nikon lenses, unusual
difficulties with the more wider angle lenses (24mm is my lowest at the
moment but a 16mm might be coming soon), or anything else of note exists
that you might have ever encountered in your own recent experiences.
As mentioned, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks again,
Tommi
