  1. The price range is not based on a budget I have been given, so of course I could spent a little over. However, I am a poor college grad, whom is in the process of trying to find steady work. So I am taking a risk in spending this money anyways. Keep in mind I'm shooting these films with a close friend, so the investment would be so we could have fun with 16mm, rather then shooting our ultra low budgets on a Dslr like the masses have. I do agree though, that spending $700 on something almost professional isn't the best idea if I could find a deal on an Eclair or CP. I would obviously prefer something with glass included. I am in no rush at the moment, so I will keep an eye out, and see where my situation takes me.
  2. Thanks for the info Will! I have since borrowed an Arri 16bl from a friend of mine for the feature project. It hasn't been used in years, so we had a battery recelled, and I shot a few 100' rolls through it to do various tests. Hopefully it will come back clean. It's a shame I can't modify the BL for super 16, as it's not mine, and I hear it is a pain in the ass. So I'm considering buying a scoopic, or something in that realm so I can mess around with it in the future. For now, I'll put the money towards the Film stock. thanks again! - Rick
  3. Thanks guys, The CP 16 was another one I was looking at, but it was usually in the range of $1500. I'll have to ask someone I know his opinion on fixing it. Do you guys think the trigger is something that ould be fixed? I have seen the Scoopics, and I don't know much about them. Something with magazines would be best, and I have no issues with load times, I plan on shooting Short Features for a friend with it. I'm searching the NYC craigslist, and will report if I find anything interesting for your guys opinions.
  4. Hey There! I am doing some research, and would appreciate any input you guys have. I sold some old gear I had been sitting on for a while, and was able to pick up around $800 for it all. So I was thinking of putting it towards a nice affordable 16mm camera. I've considered the k3. But I feel like I could do better then that within the range of $500-700. Range. Is there a decent camera (pref. One that has a motor) that anyone could point me towards? I've watched a couple Kinor's on ebay, but all are mostly "untested".
  5. Pretty good for your first video! I love watching freerunning (Ive also heard it called Extreme Walking). Good job!
  6. I have seen a few other shorts you have done, and am always impressed. Its funny, I was on another forum a few years ago and was inspired by a film you had shot, Scarlets Witch. Now something like 3 years later I saw your name in the post remembered all the films I had watched. Great Job on this as well. I love the story on this one. I also like the mountains in the opening shot. The shot comp. is great as well.
  7. Totally! That was the only way I could think of doing it, but wasnt sure if there was another way its typically done. Having them sing 2x faster just sounded like a wacky idea. I like the look, especially for slower songs. Thanks, Adrian!
