  1. 1. Does anybody know where I can get an aspect ratio lens or filter which can be screwed on the lens of the camera which shows me the aspect ratio of widescreen 1.75 or even 2.35. This is so I don?t have to put tape over my monitor to correctly compose my shots. 2. Does anyone know a Prosumer camera that has the 1.75 or 2.35 bars built in so you can see on the viewfinder? Thanks

  3. I?m going filming Dream scenes for my graduation film and was wondering if anybody had some good ideas on how to do it. The scenes will be at night and day and there not nightmares, there happy dreams. My first impression ideas would be using a pro mist filter with some eerie music plus some disorientation with the camera work, anyway these techniques seem a bit clichéd, so I thought if anyone used a technique before and it worked, let me know Shooting on DV with HD100 Thankyou
  4. Whats the difference between Redrocks M2 35mm adaptor and there new product the Micro follow focus? Is the follow focus an add on for the adaptor, would you need the follow focus if you already have the Adaptor? Thanks
  5. Also www.letus35.com are apparently months away from a 35mm adapter for the HD100. Aimed price at around $1000. Now thats a give away, no?
  6. Im not very technical and dont understand all the compression and quality loss issues. Basically I want to record footage straight from the HD100 to the pc, but I understand will I lose quality of picture if I do this because it will be compressed, oppose to using a tape deck. is this true? what sources can I read to get more clued up on these issues? any help thanks..
  7. Lets say I want the anamorphic looks of 1.85, 2:35.1 or 16:9 widescreen. I know that I can change the ratios in most Editing systems after the footage has been shot. But...How do I compose these shots without putting tape over the monitor im using? Is there a way to change the aspect ratio on the the viewfinder or monitor? or do I need to purchase an anamorphic lens? I am asking this question in respect of the JVC HD100 and the Canon XL2 I know this is a pure amature question but thats what this forums for hey.. any help thanks..
  8. hi there just to clarify, ConnectHD will allow me to capture the 24F HD footage and transfer to any PC based editing software whatsoever, such as Avid?
  9. what software would you need to transfer MiniDV to a DVD at home? Adobe Encore?
  10. hello I was looking up on the Sony PD170 and in a review is says that it can shoot on widescreen, but when you play the footage on an standard TV 4:3 ration the image will be stretched. I was wondering if there was a way in post-production you could modify the widescreen image so it will also look acceptable on a standard TV. Anyhelp would be appreciated. Thanks.

    The Film look

hi, im a little new on the subject. Im looking to get the best results with a XL1-2 for a more "film-look". Is it worth hiring a film adaptor such as the mini35, oppose to Filming with less exspensive lense and using post-production software such as "Magic Bullet" and "Final Cut Pro? Also do you need to purchase extra lenses for the Mini35 for maximun results? Also does anyone know what adaptor and lenses they used to film "28 days later" with the XL1. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
