  1. As long as the ISO of the DVX corresponds to the ASA of the film then I can't see why you should have any problems. It actually seems like quite a good idea.
  2. I saw that it uses a Canon HV30. However, i've done some research and found out that it uses the HDMI output of the camera in order to bypass HDV compression and get a 4:2:2 1080p output as opposed to 1440x1080 @ 4:2:0. I have personally owned an HV30 before and found it to be an excellent camera. Also, the bonus with using the Sniper 16 HD Pro is that I can get my footage scanned at just $5 per minute of footage.
  3. Wow. Out of curiosity I had a look at all three of the lens ports on my 16st. One of them looked completely different to the other two and appeared to be made out of a different metal. So it turns out that Brian was right. Even though my camera is not a 16SB, it has one bayonet mount. I guess this means that either my camera was modified sometime in its lifetime (I think unlikely considering it was an ex airforce camera) or it was made after 1965 when Arri introduced the bayonet mount.
  4. Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately my ST doesnt have a bayonet mount on one of its lens ports. I only think the 16SBs had one bayonet mount (hence the 'B'). I'm pretty good at modifying things to suit my needs using stuff in my tool box so I might give it a go.
  5. Is it possible to mount a lens with an Arri bayonet mount on a 16s which has the standard mount? I realise that there are locking pins in the way which prevent a simple fit, but would it be possible to grind/cut the pins off so that it simply slides into the 16s? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. I am looking for a reasonably priced film scanfor DI work without breaking the bank. I have spoken with a local company who use the Sniper 16mm HD pro ( http://www.moviestuff.tv/sniper_16_hd.html )and have great rates, and wanted to know whether anyone has ever seen HD footage scanned with it. Also, does anyone know if it can scan 16mm negative? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
