  1. Hello everyone. I am currently on my second year of a ba(hons) film production and cinematography degree course in the UK. One of our tasks for the second year is to work on a research project on the film industry. I would like to find out everything regarding working in the film industry, in particular, the pathway into becoming a successful director/DoP/camera op. There are many questions that I would like to ask. I am looking for experienced director/DoP/cameraman, who is able to answer all my questions based on your experience so far working in this industry. It would be brilliant if I can spend with you for about two to three days, just to observe, and ask questions along the way when you have the time to sit down and have a quick chat. I would be glad to follow you around, just to have a close look on how your daily schedules are, and the working life as a film professional. I am pretty flexible with the dates that you are available, and I could travel within the UK by train, as long as it is not too far away. Timing and location should not be much of a problem for me. Hopefully, you are not too busy to accommodate my presence. I am placing my hopes on the kind professionals who cares to teach everything they know about the film industry to someone who is enthusiastic and interested in stepping his first foot into the industry. I hope that you could help. The best time to have the meet up is within the next few weeks. Do reply me if you can offer a helping hand. Thank you and have a nice day. Cheers, Edison Cheam
  2. Hello guys. It is my first post in the forum. I need some advice/tips on a current film project I am working on. I am using the 16mm Arriflex SR3 with a 250T film stock. The scene is film outdoors, so I think I will shooting using a 85b filter as well. Shot description: A close up of a woman with a holy effect(her head is heavily back lighted, which will 'portray' her like a saviour, i still want a fairly good exposure on her face, as long as I can see some facial details it would be okay). The concern that I have is, the difference in exposure is too great such that her face will not be exposed or the natural lighting will be over exposed. I am seeking for advice or suggestions on whether there is a need for concern and how do I achieve my shot? Thank you so much for your kind attention. :)
