So I have a shoot coming up monday. I am the DP. Who makes the shot list? Me, the director, or both? Please elaborate or your answer. Thank you.

So I'm in the works of making a dance video. My inspiration is this video As you can see in the video, the editing is crazy. How do you get someone to be in the same place (same position in the frame) yet different backgrounds and environments. This video, at least most if not all, is shot in camera without greenscreen. Your advice would be very helpful.

I would suggest starting the music sooner, and make sure your audio has continuity before the music starts. I suggest looking at this page

I'll be shooting a music video sometime soon and I need to come up with some good ideas for a long song. Many music videos seem to be mostly random to some extent but with also a story tied in somehow. If you have some free time please listen to this song and give me some advice on what you'd like to see this music video consist of. I'm currently a student and would love any advice I can get. Has anyone seen the show Chuck!? There is no other show like it currently. It has action, love, comedy, adventure, etc. all wrapped up with a spy theme. It is produced on a low budget, which is obvious from poor green screen effects, but it makes the show's success that much better. The 4th season just finished and there will be one more season to go. Any thoughts or comments?

The high angle shot of his interview was undesirable. It would have looked better if you got down lower and looked up at him. The goal in cinema is to make the characters larger than life. Even in a documentary this would be helpful. I really like the title, it's very clever.

The weird angles made it hard to watch. It put a little bit of strain on the eyes. With so many strange angles it makes the viewer have to think too much of where the subject is in terms of location. Watch the 180 rule a little closer.

Focus on the corner of the board. Then move the camera to the center. This is how I have always seen it done.

Yes, I realize that this is not exactly a DP's job to create this effect but this is a forum for students making films, and this effect would be great for anyone to use. Does anyone have any insight or know of any tutorials on how to make the effect in this commercial? the video is here
