  1. If you assume that with a dolly grip it's all about his tools your going to have a very bumpy 15 days. There's plenty of excellent dolly grips on here willing to give you advice if you ask the right questions and what clever gadgets, toys and tools certainly isn't worthy of there expertise.
  2. Hi Joshua I have been a English grip assistant for 3 years now and worked with some fantastic Dolly Grips and some very average. The fact that your asking what equipment you should have as a Dolly Grip shows how little you know of the art (I am trying not to offend). To sell yourself as a Dolly Grip is quite concerning, I tend to play down my abilities rather than impress them with things I can not do or perform. My best advice to try and get in touch with local grips and get work through them,go down to the local rental companies and learn the gear inside out.Starting off on the correct path i believe is very important and will be far more benifical. Just because you have a drivers license doesnt mean you can drive and just because you push a dolly from A to B doesnt mean your a Dolly Grip.
