so a calf tattoo that is extremely personal to me wont jeopardize my chances of shooting features?

well, were i live, there are MANY conservative traditional older people, and they tend to look down upon body art. I feel that this generation s covered with tattoos, and as this generation progresses, tattoos will not be looked down upon as much.

that's a good point! im not getting tattoos for other people, im getting them for myself, and they won't be covered up 24/7. there meaningful tattoos that i want a part of me till i die, as a mark for my older sister and my passion for film.

okay, so I am currently enrolled at saddle back community college, working hard to get out of there ASAP and go to good film school. problem is which one. I am soo confused about every different persons take on it. I understand that it snot the college you go to, but what you make out of the college. but anyone here have any input on top film schools and why I should swing towards a certain college? also whats AFI, and how do you get to attend there? and NYFA has anyone attended there? or know anything about the program? thank you guys!!

both will be on my right leg, so with pants i will Easily be able to cover them. but i would like to wear shorts some days too. i am just wondering if having a tattoo will stop you not from working on sets as a first AC or grip or PA, but will stop me from being a DP on a feature film. both my tattoos are very personal and meaningful, so I never will regret them.

I am waiting till I turn nineteen, so i have another year to think about it. And what do you mean stranger things than a tattoo?!

thanks for all the responses! Im planning on getting them on my calf and thigh. so ill be able to cover them quite easily with pants. I was debating to get a piece on my fore arm, but i doubt that will follow through. and also these tattoos are very personal to me. not some random drawing I picked out at the shop last minute. they involve my love for cinematography( a film reel, and more) and my older sisters birthday with rosses.

so if i had a tattoo on my fore arm, i could still have jobs working as a DP on feature film sets? and thanks for the response.

hey guys, I was just curious to find out some information about the industry in regards to body art. I am seventeen years old and I plan on getting a few meaningful tattoos. I also hope to be a DP in the industry one day. what are some of your thoughts on tattoos and getting jobs in the business, will that hold me back, or as long as I can do the job well no one will mind? thanks much!!
