If it is for indoor, the Oktava MK-012 is decent and will run you about $250. It is not so great for outdoor (wind really messes with it) If you have more to spend then the Audix SCX1-HC is great I've heard.
Even as a sound designer/composer, I don't have money to buy the best mics and I have produced a lot of great results from Audio-Techinica. They have a lot of great budget mics that compete with the higher-ups. Also, eBay is worth checking out for used high-budget mics.
