My future brother in law gave me his Minolta Autopak-8 and the daylight film speeds listed inside top out at 100 for daylight and 160 for tungsten. He gave me a bunch of 200 speed speed daylight, 160 speed tungsten black and white reversal film I want to shoot.
I can't get in touch with him before I want to start shooting, but it seems like he was using this stock himself. My understanding is that the camera meters through the lens, and the little window below just illuminates the meter, so a neutral density filter in front of the lens would just be canceled out by the meter.
Do I use the camera's internal tungsten filter like a neutral density to shoot it at 160? Do I just load and shoot?
Do I meter for 100, then point the camera around until I meter a stop lower, and lock the meter?
On the other end of the spectrum, pro8mm offers a high contrast 10ASA film I'd like to shoot, but the camera seems to bottom out at 25, is there anything I can do there?
