  1. Hi Everyone, I am working on a small personal project that requires me to shoot dusk/night landscapes. I am fairly new to lighting for video-my trade is photography-so despite doing my best I am at a standstill. Unfortunately I don't know if the style is feasible to repeat with video without going into the realm of fairytale budgets, so I figured I'd ask some people who knew better that myself. My idea is similar stylistically to these photos that use gels and flashes: http://www.flickr.com/photos/benoitpaille/8675736289/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/benoitpaille/8671423006/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/benoitpaille/8692884308/ What type, power and amount of lights would you use if you were shooting something like that? I have access to film equipment locally, I just am really just stuck on that technical issue. Feel free to answer with as much technical jargon as you want! Any help you guys can give would be greatly appreciated in getting this off the ground! Thanks, Ian
  2. You guys did a good job, it looks great. A few minor critiques('minor' being the key word): Continuity error at around 54 seconds with the refrigerator door when it jumps to the POV shot; New camera position beginning at around 2:05(at the couch)is a bit disorientating; the dialogue shots back and forth between the man and women(begginging at 2:15) add to the spatial disorientation. It is a bit confusing how their position relates to the man behind the curtain, and how he would be able to see them from where he is hiding. What gear did you use, beside the F3? Kind Regards Ian
  3. Hi, I watched your video, looks nice. Just out of curiosity(relevant to the question), what shutter-speed and frame-rate combination were you using? Judging by the object in the foreground at 1:44( ), it appears that you are shooting at a high framerate/shutter. That will give it an unnatural 'videoish' look instead of the much desired 'filmic' look. Regards.
