  1. If i ran into this on set I wouldn't use it and if it was all we had, I'd probably walk. It all depends on how serious you are about film. If you want to be a professional and demand professional rates, use real equipment. If you want to spend your career scraping the bottom of the barrel no-budget shoots, use janky homemade poop.
  2. might seem like a no brainer, but i feel its worth mentioning. Make sure the road is good and wet to get maximum effect from your lights
  3. Yeah use an 8x8 frame and solid with two beefy metal stands. Table it a few feet above the light and set against the wall. Hang duvetyne around the sides and tape or pony clip all the edges together. You can use visqueen if you must, but the price difference isn't much more than $75 and you get a deeper black and added safety of fire retardant material with duvetyne. Be sure the soft side is facing in.
