  1. thanks for ALL the advice! really useful stuff to go away and think about.... x
  2. i'm just ruminating over a semi improvised scene between 2 people i will be shooting in the future, and think i will need to go hand held for part of it. i'm quite a small girl and will be operating the camera (either an Arri SR2 or SR3). Camera shake is inevitable and appropriate for the nature of the scene....but could it just get too crazy with me being not so strong as a big camera man....?
  3. there were a lot of crying kids....but i actually interpreted the noise as a comic touch to the film (but maybe thats a cultural misunderstanding- the language and culture is difficult to put across to foreign audiences i think). where did you spend your childhood? not many people ijn the west now can lay claim to identifying with such a harsh depiction of life...
  4. ha ha! no help then? (...its actually a very serious, disturbing film!! )
  5. Does anyone know what format "Turtles Can Fly" (Iraq/Iran 2004) was shot on? it looks like 35mm, but the production stills I've seen are all quite rough and look more like 16 which is confusing... (amazing film by the way)
  6. hello! a DOP I was working with recommended Lodz film school in Poland for cinematography training. i've looked on the net but there seem to be lots of contradictory numbers and email addresses. Does anyone know contact details, and more information about the course there?
  7. Hello! can u help me? I'd like to know what role a DOP takes in the process of development and production in a film or a TV programme
