It's a pity to think that some are obsessed with "perfect" cinematography... Cinematography is out eyes and we all have varying quality of vision, yet we all derive emotion from what we see... The reservoir dog’s cinematography echoed the paunchiness of the script. It dripped with visual sweat, like the sweat one would get off a room full of open face lights, and Inglorious Bastards was a misguided movie with a glossy look... In my view cinematography is more about emotion and understanding than technical skill, though ones goal as a DP is to achieve a good level in both...
That’s my view, but I'm only 25.
Ps. I think the difference between the two is that inglorious bastards exhibits the action and reservoir dogs puts you in the action.
