  3. Hello, cinematographers! I am someone who hopes to join your ranks someday very soon. I went to college for something unrelated to film, but now, at age 25 I have decided that camera-work is what I really want to build a career in-- cinematography, photography, some combination thereof. This was something I was interested in during high school, but I was discouraged from pursuing it in college and so chose a different degree, a decision I have come to regret. So my question is... where do I begin? I already have a great passion for the artistic side of working with cameras, but I'm coming into this with very little technical knowledge. Are there any introductory texts that someone could recommend? Any good online articles, perhaps? And, given that I've already been through college once and have the loan debts to show for it, what's the most practical, affordable way to approach an education in cinematography? I'm an open book here, ready to take on any advice you care to throw my way!
