  1. I appreciate the relationship between distance from subject and the size of the source in terms of the lighting softness. My question is. If i have a 4 x 4 window and bounce a light outside into say a 6x6, would the light be any softer if i used a 12 x 12? The light itself would be softer but because it's then coming through a 4 x 4 window - does that then become the source and so wouldn't be any softer? Thanks guys :)
  2. So up until now all the music videos I have shot I have managed to get a copy of and have put my favourite ones on my personal website & vimeo. Just recently I have come across two different situations. The first is a director who only wants one version of the video online and for that to be his. ( it was a competition entry on genero that didn't win) The other is an american artist who again as firmly stated that only one version shall exist on her own youtube channel. Can you please give me some advice of where I stand legally and whether these things need to be signed in a contract before shooting starts? Ideally I would like both and i don't see anything wrong in that. I see lots of DOP's with big name artists all over their personal site Thanks in advance James
  3. Thanks for the replies. What works better, putting the diffusion on the window itself or on frames further away?
  4. I really love this image and the different window lighting variations. How exactly was each one created? I'm guessing the window on the right is bounced and then further diffused, either diffusion on the window itself or a frame further back? The window on the left maybe a big HMI source, but also a combination of soft and hard light?. The haze of course helps with the atmosphere. I'm wanting to create something similar, would this be possible with a modest tungsten package? Up to 5k and 4 x 4 frames & boards. We are in a studio purpose built set and both windows are half the size than the ones you see in the image Thankyou in advanced.
