  1. I already have not bad Shure field mixer, forgot to mention. It just feels like you're throwing money away with Zoom H4N, no offense Zoom People. Everybody I know who owns Zooms recorders want to upgrade either to Marantz or Sony recorders. Coincidence?
  2. Cost is not an issue for quality audio. I heard people saying zoom h4n has noisy preamps. What about zoom h6 compared to marantz?
  3. Hi, where can I get a custom made audio bag to host my Marantz PMD661 recorder and Shure FP33 mixer. Also quick access to all ports of the mixer and recorder is a must. Any thoughts?
  4. Is it a good choice for professional sound? Or something like Zoom H6 might be better?
  5. Here is a link to it on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310774629974?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

  7. Hi, few days ago I saw a follow focus made by shoot35. It's a UK based company. It felt strong and durable to me, but after playing with it for a while I noticed a little play in it. Maybe it wasn't adjusted properly. The ones of you who live in UK or own this follow focus can say few lines about it? I haven't found much info online. This is not the latest version.
  8. I did it simply by connecting camera via thunderbolt to UltraScope. You feed pilot tone from mixer to the camera and set appropriate level. You don't have to do it every time you switch on or off camera, only when you update your firmware. Problem solved.
  9. So far we know that according to Tokina themselves, Tokina 11-16 f2.8 is T3. Foton is T4.2/4.3. What about Tokina 28-70mm f2.8? Can it be T3?
  10. I didn't know that. But they changed only housing, not optics. What's the point of spending $1K for a lens if you can buy normal still lens and some follow focus rings and throw on it for less than $600.
  11. Hi, some time ago I saw a video where a girl, I think Olivia, showed a small piece of equipment that goes underneath 701HDV that permits head to pan. Anybody knows how it's called??? I'm not talking about bottom cartridge on monopod.
  12. So far I found out that Tokina 11-16 is T2.8. How? Well, it's may be not very scientific discovery. Duclos Lenses converts normal Tokina 11-16 into cine version. As far as I know they don't change actual glass elements, only some parts of barrel where markings are and add PL mount to it. Price just immediately from $600 to $3.5K. Maybe I'm missing something and they add some spells to it. Here is a link http://www.ducloslenses.com/products/duclos-11-16mm
  13. Hi, share which setting and why you prefer, film or video? I did some tests and realized that video mode gives more realistic look and less hustle during editing with color correction. Every time I shot using film mode I ended up with the look that I could get from video mode. PS, sorry I made a mistake in the header :) It's BMCC not MBCC
  14. Damnit. Now as I know potentially it might explode I'll be more careful with this camera.
  15. I need the T number for the following lenses, please. Tokina 11-16mm F2.8-2.6 Tokina 28-70mm F2.6 Foton 37-140mm F3.5 I would appreciate any help. Thanks
  16. Is there any way to calculate f-stop into t-stop to be on the same wave with other cinema lenses? Why not just change markings on the barrel of the lens?
  17. Field mixer is your friend. That's why they were invented in first place. Plus you can run both shotgun and wireless mice into it and monitor levels there. Why do you think they called this camera "cinema camera"? Because its first and main purpose is to capture images, not sound. If I'm not mistaking here, Arri BL series couldn't record audio at all.
  18. Is it true that f-stop is actually faster then t-stop? For example T2.8 is same as F2
  19. Why they would add compressed raw recording to their 4k camera and pocket camera and ignore 2.5k version? One more thing about audio, I'm sure that 100% of people who are asking for audio meters come from dslr filmmaking. Why would you need a meters when you have an audio person to record high quality audio instead? Stop being cheap f**ks. You're in a film business for cripes sake. You want a good movie? Spend some money! This is not one man's job. Have you ever seen comfortable family car that can race up to 300 mph? Just my opinion
  20. Sounds promising. The question is when? Updates might be released tomorrow, or in 10 years.
  21. BMCC 2.K model uses center crop of the sensor to record images, not all sensor.
