  1. I have uploaded videos to showcase these cameras. Please take a moment to see the working condition of both the Canon 1014 XL-S and the Nizo S80. Canon 1014 XL-S; http://youtu.be/qGC53eXebmA Nizo S80; http://youtu.be/OoP1Neb9eq0 Also, I forgot to mention that I will include a printed (not original) copy of the 1014 XL-S User Manual from Canon. If you have any questions you may contact me via reply to this thread or at swhite2036@gmail.com. Thank you, Scott
  2. Hello everyone, Today I am selling two Super 8mm Camera's. Feel free to contact me with any questions. As these camera's are old, rare and costly I am available for video chat via Skype or other means to discuss and show any of the cameras. First is the beautiful Canon 1014 XL-S. I recently acquired another 1014 XL-S, but with crystal sync, so out with the old and in with the modified old. This camera is in great condition, minus two cosmetic flaws as seen in the pictures. All the features have been tested, without film, but they all appear to be working fine. This camera has always been stored without the batteries and the battery compartment is completely clear of any corrosion or leakage. The zoom motor works great in both H and L speeds and on manual. The shutter responds to the Daylight (150*) and Low Light (220*) dial. The various interval times for single frame work fine from 1 fps to 5 seconds, 20 seconds and 60 seconds. It also responds via remote and trigger to the single frame option. The camera works in all 3 film speeds at 9, 18 and 24 fps with quick response to the Slow Motion button (36 fps). And works on Run and Run Lock modes. The light meter responds to various conditions in Auto, locks in AE and adjusts smoothly in Manual mode via the slide switch. The eye piece shutter opens and closes with ease. The camera comes with a UV lens filter and lens cap as well as the rubber eye cup in great shape. I am asking $600 for this top of the line camera, but I am open to offers. photo sharing Next I have a Nizo S80. I received this camera with my new(er) 1014 XL-S. This camera works great, and even features and adjustable interval timer, but I don't have the budget to keep two cameras rolling. As with the 1014 XL-S above, I have tested all the features on this camera and they all work. I have not been able to test the light meter due to the batteries it requires. The removable battery compartment and light meter battery compartment are free from any leakage or corrosion. The handle swings and locks firmly in place. The zoom motor responds as it should to variable pressure. The lens is in great condition and viewfinder is clear. The camera responds to all framerate speeds and responds to all levels on the adjustable interval timer. Cosmetically the camera is in good condition with very few minor scratches and rubs. However, the handle does have some adhesive residue that is not sticky as seen in the pictures. The Nizo comes with a UV Lens filter and collapsible rubber lens hood and the rubber eye cup. I am asking $100 for the Nizo and am open to offers. windows screenshot If you are interested and would like a shipping quote please contact me with a shipping zipcode. I will ship via USPS Priority or any UPS service requested by the buyer. Any shipping method includes full insurance for the purchased price of the camera(s). I have plenty more pictures of both cameras, please contact me for more pictures. I want you to be confident and content with your purchase so please ask my any questions you may have. And again, I am available for video chat to showcase the camera(s) and so you can see first hand how they operate. I am located in the Boston area and can meet to show the camera locally as well. I am open to offers on these two cameras and will consider trades for film stock, telecine services or any 35mm Canon SLR photography equipment. Please stay tuned, I will upload videos displaying the condition and operation of both the Canon 1014 XL-S and the Nizo S80. Thank you, Scott
  3. Thanks for your input Chris and Anthony. I jumped on the Canon 1014 XL-S and am very pleased with it so far. Everything seems to be working fine and I'm in the middle of my first test cartridge, but I'll take a look at Duall to send it off for a little upkeep. Open shutter timed exposures are something I didn't consider, thanks for bringing that up Anthony. I'll look into the Nizo's when I plan on expanding my super8 collection.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm in the market for a camera bag for my Canon 1014 XL-S and was wondering what you would recommend. I'd like it to be a sling style bag, but I am open to backpacks or other styles. I do a lot of photography too, so the ability to hold extra equipment and lenses would be welcomed. I spend a fair amount of time hiking, and shooting nature/wildlife footage so something that I can comfortably walk with would also be great. I may just need to purchase a messenger bag and add foam to hold the camera, but I wanted to see what was out there. Thank you, Scott
  5. Hello Everyone, I'm sure you get requests for camera recommendations all the time, but I tried searching and did not find my particular question answered, so your help would be appreciated. This summer I am working on a project across the US regarding analog technologies and I want to bring along a film camera (super 8 seems most affordable) to compliment my beloved Canon A-1 35mm SLR. I am looking for a camera that has various frame rate settings. I am hoping for a camera that can do fast-motion (~9 fps or less), slow-motion (~36 fps or more) and the standard 24 fps. I do a lot of timelapse work, so single frame is also requested, but it seems like this is standard on most super 8 camera's. I have found a Canon 1014XL-S locally, but I wanted to see what other models would fit my criteria as I would like a slow-motion speed of more than 36 fps, ideally 54 fps. I have also found a Beaulieu 2008 which seems to fit my criteria, but I am concerned about the battery type and my ability to charge an external battery pack on the project as I will be away from power for an extended period of time. So, any suggestions on a camera with multiple FPS settings that wouldn't require special attention to update it? Thank you, Scott
