  1. I have purchased a DeckLink Mini Monitor, and I was wondering if it is possible to output the following formats with HDMI: - 8 bit Y'CbCrs full range (0-255) - 10 bit Y'CbCrs full range (0-1023) - 8 bit RGB full range (0-255) - 10 bit RGB full range (0-1023) I would also like to know if the outputs from SDI and outputs from HDMI are different ? Thanks for your answer in advance.
  2. All monitors need calibration. I have a Panasonic BT LH2550 model monitor, it can switch between HD Rec. 709 and D cinema. For HD Rec. 709 calibration, there is a color bar for me to tune with. What about D cinema calibration? Is there any color bar that I can use, or I need some devices to help? Thanks in advacne.
  3. I have never used a FSI monitor. Have any one used it? Is it reliable and durable? Also, it is said that OLED is not that durable and it may have afterimages. Is that ture?
  4. I am considering to buy a professional monitor, either Sony BVM-F250 or Eizo ColorEdge CG277, to color-correct footages in DCI format. What are the differences between the two monitors? It seems that the Eizo one only has HDMI, but no HD-SDI. So what are the differences between HDMI and HD-SDI? Also, I would like to know if this kind of video monitors really differs from the still monitor of a computer? Is there any delay? How many hours can I keep using it? How many years can it be in good condition? Any thoughts are welcome? Thanks for your answer in advance.
  5. Hi Mike, Thanks a lot for providing me so much information. Your reply is really helpful. Thank you. Melody
  6. I have a Panasonic BT-LH2550 Monitor, and it has already run for 4100 hours. When I show a plain white on the monitor, there's some shadows and slightly yellow at the edge and in the centre. We would like to know if it is a problem that can be fixed or a normal ageing problem. Also, is there any data saying how many hours should this monitor run? If it has been used for over that no. of hours, the ageing symptoms would obviously appear on the monitor , i.e. shadows and yellow corners. I can send you a photo of the monitor if you are not sure what the problem is. Please have a look at the picture of my monitor in the attachment. Thanks for your answer in advance.
  7. Recently when I use my Sennheiser MKH-416 mic, there is always a boost of high frequency noise (11kHz+, -55dB), which cost me a lot of time and effort in post-production. So I tried to conduct a experiment, using a K6/ME66 mic to compare with the MKH-416. In the experiment, I used Sound Devices 702T, and made everything else as controlled variables (time / place / direction/ gain/ input terminals… ). However, no matter how the independent variables changed, the high frequency noise was always there. Have you come across the same problem? Is it an inherent self-noise of MKH-416? Do you know how to fix it? Please have a look at a picture of the frequency spectrum in the attachment. Thanks for your answer in advance. Thanks.
  8. Thank you so much for your helpful advice. Sony PVM-A250 and FSI CM250 are all OLED. But it is said that the Sony one has the “Accurate Black Reproduction” feature, which can turn each pixel completely off so that no luminance signal is added to parts of the image recorded as black. I was wondering if Flanders Scientific also has this “Accurate Black Reproduction” feature. Also, I would like to know if LightSpace and CalMan are really helpful. Is it more important to have a better probe? Thank you very much.
  9. Hi. I am considering to buy a professional monitor, either model PVM-A250 or LMD-A240, for the color correction. But I would like to clarify some technical information to see if they are suitable for my usage. 1. Can both monitors color-correct the footages in D-Cinema format? For example, providing a 3D LUT to match the DCI-P3 gamut, or by using a probe or color calibrating software to generate a DCI-P3 compatible 3D-LUT? 2. Any recommended probe? 3. Any recommended working process for the D-cinema color correction? Thanks for your answer in advance. Thanks
