I didn't know if I should post this in the Super 8 forum or the First Time Filmmakers one. How many frames per feet are there in a roll of Super 8 film? I'm trying to figure out how much filming time I'll get at 18fps and 24fps on a 50-foot roll. Thanks much

Ok I have a Nizo S800 Super 8 camera that I bought a while ago looking to try to animate some of my cartoons. I'm just getting around to trying it out. Here's my ridiculous question: I've got batteries in it, but the lense isn't zooming when I turn it or try using the power zoom. Also, the manual says you're supposed to be able to check the batteries by pushing this button and watching the aperture indicator needle needle on the scale under the viewfinder. I can see the scale, but I don't see any needle. I've looked through the manual, but I'm not seeing what I'm doing wrong. I don't have any film loaded in the camera. Do I need to in order for these things to work? Thanks for any info. I really need some help!!!

This may be a stupid question, but I am a big time newbie. Do they sell super 8 film at camera stores (like Wolf), or do I need to order it somewhere on line? If so, what are some good websites for buying film and other super 8 accessories? Thanks much.

Geez ... I don't know. For some reason I wouldn't think super 8 film would be so widely available anymore to be in my local camera shop. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll check. And thanks for the link MikeL.

Hi everyone, I just purchased a Nizo S800 camera from ebay and it's on its way. This will be my first super 8 experience, so I have a few questions. 1. Does anyone know of any resources for possibly getting owner's manuals (or copies thereof) for Nizos? 2. My main purpose for this camera is animation. I draw cartoons and would like to make animated cartoons. IF this is all I'm doing, will I need an editing machine? Or can't I just put the drawings in order and shoot them 1 frame at a time (since I will have all the frames drawn already)? I'm sure I will have many more questions once I receive the camera and begin trying to use it, but that's all I can think of for now. Thanks much.
