  1. Our church has just been offered a weekly tv show deal and accepted it. We plan to begin starting easter sunday running 2 stationary side cameras and a pivot, zoom capable camera in the middle using the Video Toaster switch board with all new equipment. The video will be broadcasted a week prior to being filmed. I have been asked to be the switchboard operator and video editor because I have the most experience with video production (not much but the most). The problem is I have little experience with live switchboard control and could use a crash course in just about every aspect of it. Being the switchboard operator means that I will also be the director of the whole program and could use some tips on filming theory. I absorb electronic abilities and information and I can guaruntee I will learn fast. But I need a crash course and any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Taylor.
  2. Ok and will Adobe Premiere work with it?
  3. Does the card just need to have s-video input or does it have to be specific cards?
  4. So you just hookup a camera like the Panasonic 5100 or Sony M7 to this and it records for it. Bear with me on this.
  5. Ok I have an old S-VHS camera I wanted to play with just to see how well it still works and wanted to know about the editing process going through a computer. What software works, what kinda of capture card to use, and anything else i should know.
  6. Lol, yeah I said that before I read the costs of film. I probably shouldve looked into that early on.
  7. Ok so dont mess with SVHS. Does quality in miniDV change alot from camera to camera though?
  8. What about the Panasonic WV-3260? Is that digital?
  9. Good thing I bought Adobe Premiere then lol. I should be able to pull off the computer I think. I guess I dont really know but my computer has 3 512 mb memory cards in it and is fairly new. I just formatted it too so 2 blank drives would that be able to handle it?
  10. Cool, that documentary sounds alot like what I want to do. Thanx for the help too this is helping alot!
  11. Can you digitally change things in film uploaded using a capture card? Can you use a green/blue screen?
  12. 1.Yea and I have access to alot of hardware and knowledge about them. 2.Adobe Premier 3.Im going to buy a PCI capture card off of ebay soon. 4.Not much at all. I have about $50 a week for spending room. 5.I have tons of friends who can help me. 6.Im 16 right now so it may be a couple of years. Just for a heads up my first film is going to be on sprint car racing. I work at the only racetrack in a 100 mile radius and I thought maybe I could do a film on how much the drivers put into their cars and the time they spend to race. Most people dont realize that they spend the whole week working on their car for a small chance at winning a little prize money. It wouldnt be a movie really more like a documentary or entertaining infomercial.
  13. Yeah Ill have to buy a PCI card but theyre like 5 bucks on ebay.
  14. Thats cool. My video card has S-Video but i wonder if it would be input or output? Ive only used the RCA video and monitor jacks on it. S-VHS would be a great way to go for me if I can.
