  1. Hi! Besides studying a lot of cinematography, I would love to dive a bit deeper into the rich history of film, I'm looking for a online course. Most off the courses I follow are full time, but since I'm working full time as a DOP a part time one would fit me better... Incase anyone got some leads / recommandations, please let me know! Best, Stef
  2. Hi all, First of all, hope everyone is feeling well. I'm stuck at home, like most of us, because of the Covid-19 situation worldwide. I would like to use my time to learn a bit more in depth about cinematography, are there any good online courses, talks, masterclasses etc you can recommend? I'm looking for something that isn't "cinematography basics" or something like that, more for someone who is working already as a DOP for a few years. Thanks,
  3. Thanks everyone, we decided to go with some fresh film stock, and use the old stock as a dummy.
  4. Hi everybody, I picked up an 400ft 16mm Stock of Kodak Vision2 500T/7218. The stock has an date from 2002, so that makes it 15 years old. It was stored in an fridge, but not at a minus celcius degree. Is the stock still worth using, or is it going to be ruined and not worth the time and money of developing and renting a camera? The stock was super cheap so thought it was worth a try. Thanks!
  5. Thanks guys! @Daniel, in Holland more people know the term "DOP" faster then "Cinematographer", that's the reason why I made the choice to use this one haha! @Shawn, The grain is done in post, most of the projects I worked together with a director who likes grain a lot (So do I haha), that's the reason why we made our own kind of "preset" for a clean and dirty grain. So everytime a project is at the colorist, we know that the grain he's going to apply is the grain we like (Sometimes we don't like it ofcourse, has to fit the project) @Luiz, The grain is indeed in most visual projects like music video's or visual shorts a signature. Funny thing is, the projects planned and the most recent shot projects (not involved in the reel yet) are the ones without grain and are very clean, even some blown out highlights. For the reel I choosed to pick the shots I get the most reactions on, and those are mostly my moody, grainy dark shots. Again, thanks everybody for you reactions, some things to think about! :-)
