I'm trying to restore an old 1960s Bell and Howell 16mm Filmosound projector (TQ1). I've removed the old socket and replaced with a new one. This has enabled to power it up for the first time in a few decades and all seems to be well so far. I've also bought a can of compressed air, so I can give it a good clean.
However, I'm concerned about what I hear to be a common problem with the worm gear on this model. It's something I'd like to check on. The only issue is that I don't know what I'm looking for or where. Can anyone help? Where exactly is the gear located and what kind of thing should I be looking out for?
