  1. Hi All, I'm shooting a TVC on Sony Venice next week, and have been looking for Sekonic / X-Rite exposure charts for S-log3.cine, preferably in both Native ISO's so that I can load the data into my Sekonic L758-Cine light meter. Does anyone have any good sources for this? 2. Hi Guys, Next week I'm heading to CameraImage in Bydgoszcz, Poland, along with a couple of colleagues of mine for the first time. I've booked flights, accommodation and pretty much everything else without any real difficulty (even if sorting entry cards was a bit of a faff) The only thing I'm having difficulty with is the bus timetables / numbers. We're flying into Bydgoszcz Airport on Wednesday, and from what I've been able to find out, hopping on a short bus is much cheaper than arranging a direct taxi transfer. Does anybody know the Bus number to look out for, or have any useful tips on getting to the town centre? Any advice is hugely appreciated. Many Thanks, Lewis Jelley Cinematographer T: +44 (0)2920 251 255 M: +44 (0)7929 174 457 13 Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff, CF10 5EE http://stormandshelter.com
  3. I've booked to shoot a commercial with the Monstro in March, can't wait! Have heard amazing things from my rental house, who have had the chance to do a couple of tests.
  4. No worries man! Let me know how you get on, that solution certainly worked well for me in that situation, as you say I was limited on mains power and so couldn't have put a single 5K lamp up. I think the better you can evenly light the bounce and therefore the diff frame, the more effective, even and soft your light will be!
  5. Hi Thomas! You can indeed make a big ol' booklight using multiple smaller HMI's / Tungstens. I did a similar thing not long ago using an 8x8 Ultrabounce back through a 12x12 Silk, using a few Arri M18's. I actually wrote a blog post about the shoot, check it out here: https://medium.com/storm-shelter/the-cinematography-of-nineteen-fifty-eight-dark-blue-b56032cfc927 I've also attached a still with the resulting image, captures on a Sony FS700 (w/ Odyssey 7Q+, shooting in 4K RAW, with Samyang Primes and Tiffen Pearlescents. Hope this is helpful, good luck with the shoot! Lewis Jelley Cinematographer Storm & Shelter, Cardiff UK
  6. Hi All, I'm shooting a live music session with a number of cameras in the next couple of weeks, and initially had Alexa Mini's pencilled, along with some rehoused Kowa anamorphic lenses. I've just found out that the rental house I'm dealing with can offer me RED Dragon 6K's as an option instead. I've loved all of the tests I've done with this camera, and really like the size of the sensor (being close to FF). Unfortunately, I've only tested sets of spherical lenses with it so far, and so I'm not sure if the Kowa's that I've got pencilled will cover the Dragon's sensor area. I know you can crop and shoot in a lower resolution, but if possible I'd prefer to make the most of the height of the sensor. Final delivery of the sessions is likely to be HD, and I know you can shoot desqueezed proxies in 2K ProRes, but I'd prefer to work with the RAW for the sake of the grade. If anyone has any experience with this combination, that would be really helpful.
