Are non-credit "certificates" a waste of money in your opinion? I know NYU Tisch is a great school for fillmmaking, but it seems like a four-week intensive primer in cinematography couldn't really teach you much in such a short time.
I would like to learn more about cinematography and how camera units work together because I'd like to eventually get a grunt job in film/video/TV. Should I simply bypass the $3500/month certificate altogether? How could it give me any advantage in getting an entry-level job on a camera unit in Hollywood?
Has anybody ever received a certificate from NYU or a similar school? If so, how insightful or productive was the experience?
