Hi i have wear glasses and is much better shot without it and adjust the dioptric viewfinder to your eye. Be sure of the line of the screen are sharp. Zoom in, focus your object, zoom out to the desired composition and shoot. If I plan to shoot a lot then I wear contact lenses and adjust the dioptric viewfinder to the new situation.

Hi, some time ago I made a test to push to the limit Orwo UN54 film stock (125 ASA as a reversal stock). I loaded two kaccema rechargeable S8 cartridges with Orwo Un54 and shot a night procession in 2007 holy week. The film was purchased to Wittner. The camera used was a Bauer 109XL at 18 fps.(f: 1.2 and 230 degree shutter) The film was home processed pushing two stops (I think) The film was home telecined. http://www.vimeo.com/1534360

Thanks for your reply Jian. The Canon 1014 XL-S is my favourite Super 8 camera. It is very ergonomic, very useful in all the lights and it has a great sharp lens. You really will love it. Regards

Hi i just posted in vimeo one video shot on Foma R100 DS8 with a canon Scoopic DS8. The stock was home processed and telecined projecting onto a wall. The last minute of the video you can see some bleach problems. You can see some white dots in the image too. After many test i discover that this white dots is due to the chemical temperature. This example was developed to 24ºC. For the best results develop at 20ºC. Bleach step is very delicate, the chemical must be with few uses and you must move your tank constantly (3 min) Enjoy. http://www.vimeo.com/1444454

Hi, yes I projected the negative on a wall and then capture with miniDV cam. The negative stock (ORWO UN54 purchased from Wittner) was home processed in a Lomo tank. thanks

Yes great scam. I was scammed (2500 euro) in ebay. the seller was from Netherlands. the seller was gc makeyourcarier. Be carefull about Netherlands seller that sell movie items and low ratting. I purchased a Aaton LTR54 and never arrived. when I won the auction i told him that he must send the package insured for full money, and he said that sent the package insured but i never see the camera and my money, so be very suspicious with sellers that sell items very expensive and low ratting.

Hi Tim you´re right this is a Arri with French motor, but it has little use and the cam has long life if you don´t throw it into a pool. Can be upgrade this camera to Arri SR2 electronic?
