  1. hey phillyfilm. Im not too sure of ur question because I'm only 15 but I wanted to comment on the fact I am close to philly and a Wes Anderson worshipper. Whereabouts you from? (I am aspiring to be a director/cinematographer)
  2. Thanks. For Stop motion I meant photography. Using a camera set a high shutter speed to capture an image moving in space.... Thank you for the blur help I guess.
  3. I am in desperate need for help with a high school Photo 1 assignment and figured this would be the best place to get help. I need to shoot a half roll of stop motion and deliberate blur photos but I can not think of what to shoot. I know this sucks and I must be an idiot. What is something I can shoot and fast? Thanks a lot Brandon

  5. Thank you very much for all of your advice. The only camera I have is a Samsung camcorder. Not the greatest. Ugh. I made a short for English the other week on the novel The Anthem. It wasn't anything spectacular but it was the first time I really used the camera and had a vision of what I wanted to shoot with it. I have a big issue on editting. I have no idea where to being because I don't know how to begin. Since all I have is this camcorder IDK what to do.. Uh..any advice?
  6. I'm taking Photography in school right now. Will that help a little?
  7. Have any advice for someone who wants to be a filmmaker when they grow up. Being a sophmore I am already thinking I only have three years left. I am not tyring to grow up too fast at all. I just love film and I can't see my future without doing something in part. So what do you recommend I start doing now? And also how do you get a shot with a background that is blurred usually with a clear closeup of a character. It usually goes between the background and character. Was watching Ray last night and noticed I like this idea.
  8. Sorry if this is against forum rules. I am new here and I am fifteen years old. I love film and have been a huge fan for almost two years now. First, I just liked film itself then I further looked in to it and examined the details. I then became a fan of film scores and cinematography. Well after writing and directing, though. Some of my fav DP's are: (not in order of course) Robert Yeoman Pawel Edelman Robert Elswit Roger Deakins Stefan Czapsky Conrad L Hall Philipp Rousellot Pete Kozachik John Toll Donald Mcalpine Michael Ballhaus Robert Richardson Janus Kaminski Geoffry Unsworth And a few others.... Well I joined to learn more because I want to be a director someday. And if not invovled with film either being a cinematographer or composer, or both even? :) I am from Pennsylvania in the USA Cheers
