  1. Thank you Mattias, good advice! Yes I have looked at some generators for rental and within an affordable pricerange. As you say the best solution would be to get electricity from somewhere near but it will be tricky (there should always be some challenges hehe). 1k worklights would surely do the job. I thought maybe i can use a board with (bumpy/wrinkled)aluminumfoil to bounce the blue light and keep it a bit stronger but it is possible it will be too hard light then.
  2. Hi everyone! I am currently working on a short film in 1890s environment with a horror/mystery theme to it. It will be shot on HD with a homemade DOF adaptor and requires a LOT of light. The scene I am going to shoot is in a small backstreet with two light sources, a yellow streetlight and blue-omni- moonlight. There is no electricity available around there so I am looking for a way to solve this problem at low cost. I made a test today with the spotlights of a car standing on a ramp to get it to look like streetlight and a 35W chargable halogen-spotlight. It was all shot just before dark and it looks almost perfect but the light is still insufficient. The camera im using is a Sony HDR-HC1E so the mpeg artifacts are showing too much because of this low light. There are two persons in this shot standing about two meters from eachother and I want them lit up by the street light. The moonlight (a blue omni) should lighten the surroundings. Sorry about the long description but it may help to understand the scene a bit. :) If anyone has an idea about this I will be very greatful, thanks!

    HDR-HC1

Hi How Chee! I use my HC1 for everything, no neeed for a more expensive camera. In march I made a short with the Sony Z1U but IMO the HC1E generates a better image than the Z1U. Sure it has bad low light sensitivity but it doesnt bother me. HDV rocks and CMOS is my best friend!
  4. How silly of me! I mean a Micro35 adaptor not Guerilla35...sorry if I made someone confused.
  5. Hello! I am now editing my Hdv footage on Avid Xpress pro HD 5.2 and it seems it has not many color correcting features in it. Im looking for the kind that is in Adobe Photoshop, the "Color Balance" where you can edit RGB in shadows, mids and highlights. Does anyone know if there is a plugin for avid xpress pro that has this kind of color correcting? Thanks in advance!
  6. Hello everybody! I have now bought a SONY HDR HC1E which Im planning to make a short on. Some problems seem to have popped up though, on the camera there is a function called "Tele-macro" which should (according to Sony) get a short focal length-like feature. http://www.sony.jp/products/Consumer/handy.../feature04.html The only thing that happens when I press the "Tele-macro"-button is that it zooms in 5x and its no difference that if I would zoom manually it seems. So I thought I would build a Guerilla35 adaptor. The problem with this adaptor is that it seems to soften the picture even in the sharp areas (as seen in comparison examples on www.redrockmicro.com). I thought it was because the cd-groundglass is vibrating/wobling a bit making the focus to the lens change in distans. Or am I totally wrong? Have someone figured out what of the adaptor is causing this soft quality? My last homemade 35mm adaptor (where I used a static gg) it did not give a softened quality but you could on the other hand see the grain. Well please tell me if you know the answers to these questions :) Bye for now
