  1. You have to see one of Jess Franco´s films. You´ll never understand how this guy get his films produced.
  2. It was PERFECT!!! My camera works and the readings were accurate! I tried doing three different readings but there were not so much difference between them. In fact my favourites were without adapting the Bolex shutter to the lightmeter reading. What i get with the sekonic was perfect. And the images were amazing. I shot it with a Fuji 64 and the readings were from 0.4 to 5.6, calculating the intermediates in some takes I was able to shoot inside my house. Video is great but when you see just one frame of film everything change, film have the magic that video lacks. Maybe is not reality like Godard said but it´s a beautiful reality in itself. I LOVE FILM!!!
  3. This is my opinion: I think it´s hard but not impossible! I´ve never could afford to go to film school. And if I had the money I definetly spend it on doing a film. I recently bought a bolex and a lightmeter, and now I am learning how to use them. After all the knowledge that is teach it can be found in any book. But creativeness is another thing. If you are creative and you have something to say, nothing will stop you. I´ve always work with video wich is great: quickly and cheap... a very good method to learn to tell stories. But I think film-making can´t be taught, you have to learning by yourself (at school or outside). You should watch any kind of movie trying to analise them, knowing how a film is, in its esence. Asking yourself why a movie that maybe you don´t understand is recognised, and why Spileberg is doing that poop today! The problem nowadays is that some people look if you have any title but if you are really good, you´ll have no problems! It´s is horrible when you have no money and have to do things that you don´t like, but if its your real dream you´ll get it one day!!!
  4. Thank you Dimitrios. I´m doing a table with the f stops at 1/60 ,1/65 and 1/80. After developing I´ll tell you my results. By the way, today the weather in London is horrible and the maximum reading I can get is 5.6... so for smaller times I have to close a lot the iris.Do you think I can get anything with this or everything is going to be dark and blured?
  5. Thank you Dickson!! Today I´m going to shoot some footage for the first time( I´m too excited!). Thank you for your replay! It´s going to be a big help!
  6. Hi, I hope you can you help me with this question: I can only get reading from my lightmeter at 1/60 and 1/125 so, for example if I read at 1/60 an f stop of 2.0 and 3/4, and in 1/125 f1.4 and 3/4. How can I know the reading for the intermediates 1/65 or 1/80 for the bolex? Is there any maths to do this? :( Thank you!

  8. Hi! I´m new into this. So hello to everybody!!! (I´m learning english so sorry for my mistakes) First of all let me tell you that I´ve been reading a lot around the forums but I can´t find answers for my question, so if there is a forum with this information let me know. If it´s not these are my questions: I recently bought a bolex RX1 and a Sekonic L308. Maybe this is not the best way of starting but things have happened like this. I´ve been looking for information about which is the shutter of my camera but I´m not sure wich is the exactly number, in some places says is 145 degrees, and in others 135, so...I´m confused at this point. The other question is how can I get a reading with my lightmeter? It doesn´t says that the lenses are RX but when watching through the finder I´ve got no problems to put everything in focus, so I think they work. About the camera: it has a variable shutter with four positions: one open, one closed and two intermediates. How can I work out the reading of the meter? There is a roll of film in my fridge waiting to be shoot. It a FUJI NEGATIVE FILM RP, and it has the number 72161, I couldn´t find the model in FUJI but is new. The exposure index is 80 for daylight and 64 for tungsten. Can anyone tell me some information about that film sotck? I hope you´ve got an answer, Thank you!
