Hmmm, I meant the word 'faded" more in mood than actual TONE. I think "dirtied," might be better (and maybe that's best achieved in post.) It's faded as in older, a memory.
I definitely want a vibrancy to the colors, but in almost a bleeding, Technicolor way (but like a dirty print.) The softness of the edges is the most important thing.
Thanks for your suggestion, John. The 7229 looks very close to what I'm looking for, at least for portions of the film. I'd love to get reports from anyone on this stock, in different conditions. I'm also wondering if anyone can compare this (or its 35mm cousin) to the 5263/7263. I really love the softness of the 63, but find the palette too muted.
I've thought about Fuji, especially the 8582 or 8552. Any comments on these? I'm a little afraid of the Fuji green, preferring a more golden green.
What about reversal stock? Might that suit my needs?
