  1. I'm shooting a film where the character is inside a "rabbit hole" and I wanted to get some inspiration for it. Does anyone know any shots where they do this? and if you have behind the scenes knowledge on how they did it please let me know I'd love to hear it!
  2. I'm most likely getting some Tarpaulin as part of a set because I can get large sizes (which is what we need). I will be shining light through it, but I'm worried that I will loose a lot of light this way because I have never used Tarpaulin as diffusion. Does anyone have any experience with using Tarpaulin as diffusion and is there a diffusion it is similar to / can be compared to ? I want an idea of how much it diffuses / cuts out light.
  3. @Mark Dunn That's a great idea! When you say canes, what do you mean? If you mean bamboo canes, I'm not sure how to bend those.
  4. I want to build a tunnel for a short film I am creating. It would be made out of a white fabric, such as cotton. The tunnel would need to be 4M X 8M big, but I’m not quite sure where you can buy fabric this big, since fabric is usually only 2 metres wide. I’m going to be shining light through it, so it will also act as diffusion. As a backup idea I was thinking maybe I could have 2 long walls of fabric, like a sort of hallway, but I would quite like to show the top of the tunnel. Also in terms of supporting it; I was going to use 2 backdrop stands at each end and maybe a grip arm in the middle (the fabric would be clamped to these). But does anyone have any other budget friendly ideas for how to support it? Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make this fabric tunnel / where I can buy a wide piece of white fabric?
  5. When you have white walls and you bounce into the ceiling I've found that it makes the walls look flat and terrible. I tried creating a circle of light in the middle of the ceiling which helped a bit but now the character was getting most of the light onto him (since he was in the middle of the room). What would be a good way to fix this and have an ambient light that doesn't wash out the image?
