I am in the process of building my own 8 and 16 mm film scanner and I have some ideas that I would like to share with others , my plan is to build this machine fairly quickly from parts I have on hand and it should be able to compete fairly well with the best out there for a fraction of the cost. None of the actual factory built scanner companies have proprietary software for the control and use of their machines. I can do that as well with mine but I am in the process of using the existing DaVinci ver 18 scanner software developers kit provided by DaVinci to marry my machine functionality with their software and use the same sliders and commands they currently use to drive their CIntel Scanner.
