  1. i'm shooting some hand painted film onto 100t, some is bipacked with already existing footage that has been shot onto 7399. i was initially taught that one should have the emusion towards the camera. of course when bipacking it's emusion to emulsion. i'm also doing hicon mattes which isn't a problem because it's double perf-ed. why do you say its not logival to have the emulsion face the camera?
  2. two questions. i'm printing a bunch of stuff on an oxberry printer...and we've run into the problem that our filters are trashed and we can't figure out a good place to get new nd and color correction filters (aka magenta cyan and yellow) does anyone know where to get them? also, when i load the main porjector and i want my emulsion to be towards the camera (which seem pretty logical right?) the sprocket holes are in the wrong possition so i've had to make a twist in the film before it hits the first loop. is there some way of making the feed reel spin the other direction? has anyone else had this problem? anyway, thanks for your help paula
  3. i do cross processing by hand. much less expensive. you can get the chemicals from calumet or b&h or places such as that. i mean, i'm an experimental filmmaker with no money so that's why i do it...but it's proved to be a very interesting process. ::Ps
  4. there will be a lot of optical printing involved, but for this particular set of titles, it's just going to be as is. thanks! Paula
  5. I was shooting transparencies the other day with tea candles (about 10 of them) the camera was about a foot away from the transparencies and I was convinced we weren't going to get anything on the film because the light meter wasn't getting any readings...long story short shooting at f1.4 we got a very clear image that was almost too bright... it got me thinking about foot candles. is there a candle locked up somewhere in a dark room that was originally used to measure foot candles or can you measure a foot candle from any old candle? -paula
  6. Hi, i'm new to this site so please forgive if I post incorrectly. I am about to shoot titles for a film i'm working on...i just got the kodaliths back which look wonderful...but my question is what kind of film would you recommend I shoot them on. The rest of the film was shot on 7246 and I plan to conform it myself and pull the print myself. If I shoot them with 7363 will it end up looking strange when I pull the print? should I just stick to a color film? Thanks, Paula S.
