  1. Hey guys ! I'm trying to light a hall with ambient light, similar to the still I've attached from the film Blue Jean. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for this type of lighting. Are there any lights outside the window? Or is this all natural? For our shoot, we're trying to create ambient blue hour in the hall, so everything will be a lot darker, but interested to hear people's thoughts.
  2. Hi, I am a student at Birmingham City University and am gathering some primary research. I am currently writing a short thesis on the idea that film production is moving towards large budget TV series productions such as House of Cards, Breaking Bad and Gotham. This could mainly be due to the way consumers receive their media content online. With the substantial transfer from cinema and TV spectatorship to online streaming and distributors such Netflix and Sky. I wondering whether people agreed there is a significant change from film production to high profile TV Productions in relation to the consumers move towards online distributors such as Netflix? Many thanks, Auberon
  3. Looking forward to listening to cinematographers Wally Pfister and Jess Hall talk about how they worked together on “Transcendence” at NAB next week. What makes this special is that Wally is a first time director here. How do two DPs reconcile their take on a major film like this? Is it a disadvantage or an advantage? My guess is the latter. I’ll find out when they appear at their Creative Master Series keynote presentation co-sponsored by the ICG, on Tuesday, April 8 at 1:45 p.m. Room S220 http://bit.ly/1hWwb9w The ICG will be at NAB: Booth C10306 Central Hall – ICG Magazine/ICG Local 600
