Wait! Don’t roll your eyes just yet! I know that many of you will think: “Oh, no! Not another Woody Allen thread! For God’s sake!” But this is not about Woody Allen; it is much more about Eigil Bryld (just in case you didn’t know, it seems that, as per the IPA notation on Wikipedia article, his name is pronounced, approximately, EYE-ghill BRILL) and how this will all turn out visually. And, it seems from the photos, it will look great! Many articles in the last few days state that these are the first photos http://deadline.com/2016/08/crisis-in-six-scenes-photos-woody-allen-miley-cyrus-elaine-may-amazon-1201810941/ but these were released a bit before http://www.woodyallenpages.com/2016/08/crisis-six-scenes-first-images-features-woody-allen-miley-cyrus-elaine-may/ It looks stunning. Or perhaps that’s just my impression because I wasn’t expecting anything special visually, thinking that this was just a short mini-series with perhaps not lot of a budget. (Though, yeah, money doesn’t always equal stunning visuals.) Here is the trailer: From the House of Cards – cold, dark, bleak – to a total opposite (yes, I realize that is a pleonasm) for Eigil. IMDb isn’t showing how this was shot: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4354616/ I’m hoping for a brief write-up in the American Cinematographer. :) P. S. By the way, have you seen it? Lo and behold, the colourist is Joe Gawler, of Midnight in Paris and To Rome with Love fame.

The first of its kind, this workshop on wildlife cinematography is taught by EMMY award winner Robin Cox and Keshav Sishta in conjunction with Field Projects International and Primates Peru in the Amazonian rainforests of Peru. Be one of the first eight applicants to register to receive the early-bird rate ($2400 per person). Enrollment opens: June 8, 2015 at 8 am (Central Standard Time) Unlike any other workshop out there, students will gain exclusive access to expert cinematographers and field biologists at the same time! At the completion of the course, students will enhance their portfolios, gain a blue print for producing nature and research documentaries, technical know-how under challenging field conditions, and a network of colleagues that will help you further your career. Previous film making experience is a bonus but is not a prerequisite for this course. Participants must have a working knowledge of photography, and familiarity with a DSLR camera - no other prior experience is necessary. Details on the course can be found here, and the registration form can be found here. Contact us at admin@primates-peru.org for further questions.

Hello all, I have recently bought an Angenieux 12-120mm type 10x12 B lens for the Blackmagic Pocket Camera. Upon buying this lens, I believed it to be a C mount; to my surprise, it is not. Could someone help me identify what type of mount this lens has exactly? Thanks, John W. King

Very big move for a company like Amazon, however, it was expected after all the money they put on developing new teams for their studios and production positions and how well they performed on smaller productions. http://variety.com/t/amazon-studios/ http://techcrunch.com/2015/01/19/amazon-studios-to-produce-original-films-for-theatrical-release/ It wants to market the indie community, which is really good. Their plan for distribution is fab too, let's see if it works though, I hope so! Have a good day!
