I own a Konvas 1KCP-1M (hammered grey finish) from 1964 (serial no. 1135). I am noticing that the shutter does not completely cover the film gate (notice the slit at the top in my linked videos). Some have expressed this can be done by simply swapping it out with a donor blade. There is a Konvas.org forum that proposes the idea of using CDs glued to washers as a strange DIY alternative (huh?). How do I proceed? Is it incredibly difficult to attempt the replacement myself, the blade being the only known issue? Some people have remarked that replacing the blade is tremendously difficult, others have suggested that it is relatively straightforward. With this all said—I am currently seeking a replacement shutter or donor camera. Any guidance or help is appreciated. Thank you!

I'm just getting back into 8mm & 16mm filming. I stopped doing this back in the 70's. I'm wondering, are projection lamps still available for all projector brands....even the old hand crank versions? If so, where? Thanks

Hello, I`m living and working as freelanced dop in germany. Now i bought this zoom lens via the www in the states... It`s an Angenieux F. 16-44mm T1,3 ( Type 2.6 x 16 B ). When i got it, i had to determine that it has a deep scratch close to the middle of the front lens (not only the blooming). With higher apertures and direct sunlight it affects the image in a way which makes it impossible to work with (not only because the front lens circulates when pulling the focus). I already contacted different specialists who couldn`t help me and the guys from angenieux told me that back in the days when the lens was built they used a special kind of glass, which even makes reproduction impossible. Does anyone of you has such a lens as replacement, or an advice what to do, maybe a contact or anything that helps me getting out of this tricky situation (ideally without paying more than i did for the lens!?)?
