Guy Meachin
What do people think of the XL1S? I want a wide-angle lens for it but I can't afford the Canon wide zoom. Whats the best SLR LENS option using the EF adaptor?
Guest Ultra Definition
Generally any wide angle 35 mm still camera lens becomes a telephoto on XL1s. There was a similar post here a day or two ago that was asking basically the same thing. XL1s is dated and will be replaced with a new model, most likely with HDV recording. Excuse me, but do you absolutely know that? Unless you work for Canon, you have no business making definitive statements about their release schedule. Guest Ultra Definition
There are a number of signs, like very poor sales, rebate, questionaire sent out by canon, their joining of the HDV group. How much are you willing to bet that my statement is incorerect? I stand by what I said.
Eskimo pop
Check out e-bay chaps, you can pick up wide angle converters for the xl1s, and i have seen them for as low as $200, at least a quarter of the price of a canon wide angle lense. Canon sure is expensive
