Mike Rilstone
I'm currently in my second year of film school at Sheridan college on Oakville, Ontario. We had an assignment in our camera class to do a shot recreation. I pitched the idea of shooting a shot from the intro of watchmen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKqXL_LEnnE The shot I picked to re create is at 1:45 I had an awesome production designer who I worked with to build the set in a studio.. We did a fast dolly move shooting at 80fps with the Arri SR-2. The film is currently in the lab but I have a recording off of our monitor... Please let me know what you think! I will post the final shot as soon as it comes back from processing. Mike Rilstone
Henry Busby
It's hard to tell off of a monitor, but so far it looks like you nailed the look and the camera move. There's a little bit of inconsistency in the dolly move, but I think it should look fine when conformed to 24fps (I'm assuming). Great job on the production design. -Henry
