Paul peabody
Does anyone do this so that on rerecord there is always black leadin,,,,,or is there an easier way I hope this is not a stupid question.or perhaps half a minute up front is enough
Premium Member drew_town Posted May 27, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted May 27, 2005 Yeah you really should record a lead in so that you have a pre-roll for editing. I run color bars for thirty seconds. Some people will black a whole tape. I don't think it's that necessary for DV. Just don't use the camera's VTR and you shouldn't have to worry about timecode breaks.
Jay Gladwell
With the XL series, you can also close the aperture in addition to leaving the lens cap on the lens. Some lens caps will leak light. Jay
Premium Member Josh Hill Posted June 5, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted June 5, 2005 I think color bars are definitely preferable to black lead ins.
