Christos Dassios
Dear Forum, Today I got a Perfectone motor running, by simply providing regulated DC (+ and -). As it seems, the 2-perf CM3 needs about 8V to run stable at 24fps (with fitted magazine). But, still I'm wondering, what the different cables are good for. The thick yellow cable is minus. The thick black cable is plus. A thin red cable is attached to the thick black cable. Furthermore, there are two green and a blue one (all thin). Has anyone got some information about the wiring? Thanks

Premium Member Duncan Brown Posted April 3 Premium Member Share Posted April 3 Often the other two wires on motors of that era are for the Pilotone signal, used to sync up the separate tape recording where sound was captured. So the Power goes in and the Pilotone comes out. Duncan
Christos Dassios
Thank you, Duncan. You are right. I have no experience with pilotone. I was just wondering, if some cables maybe could have something to do with "stabilising" the speed.
Craig Boydston
I just repaired one a few days ago, they don't usually have the cables running out of the front. I would think that someone did some modifications for what ever reason.
