Eugene Zagidullin Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Recently I picked Beaulieu 1008 XL on flea market in kinda working condition except the zoom drive (broken plastic gear) and missing macro mode locking pin on the lens. Plus some haze and fungus. I fully cleaned all optics and while reassembling it it realised that I just hate this piece of squeaky plastic. Screws in plastic sockets which don't stand second assembly, all this stuff. I use to service Japanese photo cameras from 60s and early 70s and I like how they are built, how sturdy they are. I may play for a bit with this camera but I think I want something not so meh. I want metal gears, chassis and case, like in a decent photo camera. Judging by exterior it may be Nizo, Elmo, maybe Yashica. What would you suggest?
