taking it slow-mo.

I was wondering if changing the shutter speed on a video camera would be like changing the frames per second on a film camera?

I need to shoot some footage in a high speed so I can slow it all down in post without getting a blurry picture.

in a word : "no" :D

if you want a slow motion effect you can shoot in 30p and slow it down to 24p...its only slight...the other option that i have tested with very good results can be found here: http://rarevision.com/articles/slow_motion.php

or you could use a varicam...that works too

Using a shorter exposure time (high shutter speed) is standard operating procedure when shooting video to be slowed-down in post, but it only reduces blurriness -- it doesn't help make the slo-mo less steppy-looking. To get really smooth slow-motion, you need to shoot at higher frame rates.
