seth christian
here's my honest opinion.... positives: I think the location was good. You had some really well done shots from certain angles and what not. The imagery with the girl was very nice! Wide angle shot of band was very cool, cool...should've done more of it! Obviously took the attention and time to set the scenes with the girl and band..great preparation man'! negatives: The two atmospheres (band location/the bed with girl and stuff) didn't blend with each other at all, its like there were two completely different stories. I couldn't define any story to be honest...and thats important with a genre like this where you cant hear any words. Some of the video wasn't sinked up with the song very well, like the drummer..which is important to make it look professional. I applaud your efforts and decent job on lighting, but your story MUST BE TOLD!...OR at least your imagery HAS TO MIX WELL! grade: B- your short trailer though........is FANTASTIC!!!!! great imagery and creativity...weird, but intriguing. grade: A

Guest EKC
needs a story. i felt i had seen the whole video within the first 30 secs. dolly shots were too slow. camera moves to moves didnt match intesity of music. all the girl stuff is cliche. i hated that part. overall, the video didnt make the song better, which is the point of any video. but i am dumm and have no clue about anything. Jordan Roettele
Hi Anybody ! Please take a look to my new musicvideo. The music is a little bit hard (punkrock), but nevertheless very nice. thx Rainer http://www.utv.at/direct.php?id=511 and here a trailer to a short: http://www.utv.at/direct.php?id=254 hey! The band stuff was a little too lit. The floor and the back wall seemed to be lit more then the actors. But the BW looked good!

Zamir Merali
It looks like you had some great equipment and the music video's quality and look shows that. I just thought that if you wanted to follow mainstream punk music videos you should have many more cuts. For example Alternating between singer, drumer, guitarist, singer, guitarist etc. That would have drawn the audience into the fast pace and the roughness that is characteristic of punk music. It looked great though and I liked how you used the handheld camera moves and your dolly/zoom. Lots of people use the dolly/zoom just for kicks and it makes their footage look really amaturish. The trailer for the short seemed pretty cool but I watched it 3 times and I couldn't figure out what it was. thats good though because it made me want to watch the actual short. Great Job, I am really new and I love to see what other people have done to get inspiration.
Premium Member Bill Totolo Posted June 23, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted June 23, 2006 If you combined the imagery from your short with the music from your video you'd be really onto something!
Guest LondonFilmMan
I thought the short film trailer didn't have much to say for itself except for 'look at me, I'm weird' But I suppose you wanted weird -- and achieved it. Question. What audience would actually be interested in it? I mean, isn't it like underwater chess in that it's ultra-specific? Since I could not feel a story what audience numbers did you anticipate? Rainer, I'm sure I've seen better from you before...
Guest rainer fritz
Hi Guys ! Thanks for the much posts, I was a time away from the forum.... They wanted a not so ever seen punk video. The wanted not to be a punk stereotype.... To mix it with other pictures for example from the short would be a good idea.... I wanted to shoot some other scenes with them, but the time was not enough.... Yes Inkal is a little bit strange and I know it, but I wanted to try a not narrative short... Now a documentary is still in progress, but it will take the next two years to complete... in October or November I will show a few pictures of it.... thx all to you ... hopefully we will read again soon... wish you all a very warm and nice summer... rainer
