danny bartle
well after doing some research on my own, I've come down to 2 choices: David Elkins, Camera Asisting Manual Douglas Hart, The Camera Assistant Has anyone read these books & are they worth while buying? Thanks...
Premium Member Kevin Zanit Posted June 26, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted June 26, 2004 I have read the book by David Elkins. It is pretty good if you are fairly new to assisting. It has a lot of basics, but at the same time does dig into less introductory topics. It deals with the paper work of a 2nd pretty well, and also has some real useful appendixes. Premium Member Laurent Andrieux Posted June 30, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted June 30, 2004 I guess you can get it from a rental if they have a little technical book shop or order it from a technical book shop. May be You can bye it from the american cinematographer as they often put ordering forms in the magazine. Did you try amazon.com ?
danny bartle
Since i'm in Australia, i'd probably have to order it through a technical bookshop. Do you know the exact name/edition of the book so I can order it? Thanks....
Colin Kelly
http://store.yahoo.com/cinemasupplies/books.html decent prices for all the books mentioned in this topic. And if it is still a question the Elkins book is much better than the Hart one, imo.
