AStar
Does anyone know where to get some footage on D-beta, dvcpro50, or even BetaSP; of a crash test facility testing? I am looking for a small 2-door black Honda shot in Side view in either real-time or high speed. Optionally the footage could be car driving away from camera on a high angle shot or interior of car with black hood crumple. Any help would be appriciated. Mitch Gross
The US government conducts these tests as do the car companies, so I would suggest contacting both Honda and searching through US gov't. websites to find the material. You could also try Consumer's Union, the group behind the publication "Consumers Report," as they also conduct some safety tests. Lastly, there are stock houses that do nothing but act as conduits for government file footage. Rather than searching and petitioning endlessly for the usage rights from the government, you can contact one of these agencies and likely have your footage right away. Premium Member John Pytlak RIP Posted July 13, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted July 13, 2004 There used to be a crash-testing lab in Buffalo NY, known as "Calspan", formerly Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory.
Premium Member John Sprung Posted July 13, 2004 Premium Member Share Posted July 13, 2004 Also look for the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. They do the crash tests that are reported on TV news. They probably give freebie "B" roll material to TV stations. -- J.S.
