XLH1 - Timecode remains with power off ?

I don't see a internal memory battery spec on the XLH1 brochure.

We are looking at a 2 camera shoot with both cameras jam synced to time of day free run.

After jamming they will roam independent, no cables to TC generator .

When we power off for main batt changes or say lunch, will time of day TC be affected ?

The old XL1 had a 2016 cell in the grip, where and what is the memory power on the H1 ?.

Thanks in advance.

Timecode will not be affected.

The camera has a small 'watch battery' style battery in it that will run the TOD timecode for months with the camera off if need be. This little battery is recharged everytime you put a main camera battery on your camera or use the AC adapter with the camera.

You will be all good.

I hope that helps,

We had major sync problems on a show I was working on earlier this year. Basically, it was impossible to sync our three cameras. No matter what we did they were all 8 frames off. Canon has suppossedly fixed this problem, but I would check around and make sure you follow the right steps so that you don't have a major post problem later.

Good luck.

Brad,

Canon has answered your concerns.... http://www.xlcinema.com/cinematic/showthread.php?t=1099

Thanks Shannon. Luckily, they're no longer my concerns. That show is done shooting. When I originally posted about this problem people told me I was wrong, and that there were no problems with sync, even when I mentioned that the designers of the camera came to our set and talked to us about our concerns, and agreed that there were issues with timecode (the timecode being one of many). I'm glad they listened and fixed the problem. Hopefully they'll resolve all of the issues related to that camera. I know they were working on it 6 or so months ago.
