Guest meilee
Hi everyone, I'm aware that this is a very common topic but I can't seem to find my answer anywhere...everything is with regards to the NTSC format. I'm shooting my first short film on Super 16 next week on the Aaton XTR Prod. Can someone please advise about the things I should be aware of while shooting a PAL TV screen(if any) and how to overcome flicker problems. (We are shooting on 25fps) Thanks! Brian Drysdale
You shouldn't have any problems shooting a PAL TV set with a camera using crystal controlled 25 fps. Looking down the V/F use the phase control to remove the bar from the screen before you call action. Premium Member Adam Frisch FSF Posted August 26, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted August 26, 2006 You can also rent a phase bar box. There you set the the phase bar once and for all and it will 'remember' it, so that when you run the camera next time, it gets phased out automatically. Or shoot an LCD TV - they don't show blanking and phase bars, as I recall.
