IvanKane
Hi I am planing to sell my Eclair NPR. I was just wondering what you guys thought of the idea of converting it to S16mm before I sell it, for profit. It costs £750 to convert it. I think the price for a standar one is about $3000. cheers
Premium Member Bernie O'Doherty Posted September 5, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted September 5, 2006 Hi, Ivan, I think you would move it faster if it were converted. Standard 16mm isn't going anywhere fast, and very few people are shooting in it professionally now. Cheers, Bernie
Alain LeTourneau
I'd agree with Bernie that std 16 is going nowhere in market terms. I've been watching NPRs sell on eBay for less than $1500 and many for less than $1000. That's rock bottom compared to the price for a std 16 NPR in the early to mid-1990s when they were selling for $5000-7000. Unless you have an outstanding camera package I doubt you'd get $3000 for your NPR. You'd probably get that price with the conversion though. Thanasis Diamantopoulos
Hi i thing that is about the same npr is an old camera (with, for me, beautiful picture). A new convertion of the camera must be tested very well and at your hands (to know all the broblems before you sell it so the byer can ask you about. For a proper trade you might need some time. Hans Engstrom
I think it´s better to sell it as is and inform the prospective buyers that it can be s16 modified for £750. $3000 sounds very high for a standard NPR (depending on what accessories and lenses you have). A converted ACL went for $2400 recently.
