Premium Member Phil Rhodes Posted December 9, 2006 Premium Member Share Posted December 9, 2006 Hi, I've written a piece of software which attempts to solve some of the problems with posting P2. It's very elementary and largely untested - it worked on one show for me - but it has quite a lot of options aimed at giving P2 MXF files sensible filenames, and it produces quite a lot of hopefully-useful XML metadata concerning the production and what files are associated with it. P2 Sanity is free software under the GNU Public Licence and you can download it here: http://www.1159productions.com/test182/p2sanity_0.1-0pre.zip Unpack the zip archive to any convenient directory and run "P2 Sanity.hta". You'll need to hit the "prefs" button and tell it where to look for various files; hopefully this will be self-explanatory, as there's no documentation. This archive includes a dummy P2 card image (containing no actual video) for evaluation purposes, and I've attached an image of the interface at work to this post. You need to have Quicktime (the free version is OK) installed on the machine to be able to preview MPEG-4 proxies. I'm sure it won't be of much serious use, but it's there if anyone needs it.
