Scott Bryant
It seems like i read somewhere that some CP gsmo's have problems with their circuit boards or internal workings that need to be replaced. I tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything. Anyone know anything about this? true? false? Thanks.
Premium Member Bernie O'Doherty Posted May 5, 2007 Premium Member Share Posted May 5, 2007 Yeah, most of the chips are proprietary. When they blow, game's over. Wish I could be the bearer of better news, but it's like driving at night, in rain, towards the Chappaquiddick...
Scott Bryant
so there aren't any camera repairmen (i know the company is out of business) that can replace it or anything?

George White
I was looking at GSMO on eBay a couple of weeks ago and researched this somewhat. A google search quickly turned up someone (on another cinematography board answering that same question in 2005 by saying a Culver City repair poutfit has developed a new board that goes in place of a bad circuit board. I do not know anything about it personally but you might want to do a google search on GSMO circuit board. ---george
Clive Tobin
... a Culver City repair poutfit has developed a new board that goes in place of a bad circuit board. ... This is likely Optical-Electro House. They are on occasion buying our TXM-14 and TXM-17 circuit boards (as originally made for some of our now discontinued models of crystal motor) for some mysterious applications.
